Rodolfo Bayabos Aparentado, passed away peacefully in Yuma, Arizona on March 19th, 2025. Also known as Ruding, Rudy, Kuya, Pa, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa, he was the beloved husband of 60 years to the late Milagros Castillo Aparentado; devoted father to Raymond Aparentado and wife Katherine, Joan Barrett and husband John, Romil Aparentado and wife Tiffanie, Rico Aparentado and wife Erica, and the late Monica Aparentado; loving grandfather to Evan and Noah Aparentado, Jake Barrett, Anya and Joshua Aparentado, Lori Aparentado and husband Rob Biddle, Kyle Aparentado and partner Candace York, Eric Aparentado, and Jaelen Pettis; proud great grandfather to Rowan and Ochre Aparentado and Enzo, Dario, and Fio Biddle. He was especially proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Born in Bayombong, Nueva Viscaya, Philippines to the late Faustino Aparentado and Generosa Bayabos; preceded by sister Flor Nagtalon, and brothers Nonoy Aparentado and Mioni Aparentado; and survived by youngest sister Perla Cortez. He is also leaves behind family all over the world: the Bayabos, Nagtalon, Cabillo, Castillo, Lopez, Corotan, and Payne families.
Rudy worked for the department of public works in his hometown, before he and his children joined Milagros in the United States in 1976. Settling in Baltimore, Maryland, he worked at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for nearly 30 years before retiring.
Rudy will fondly be remembered for his easy going and fun-loving personality. Getting together with family and friends was very important to him. He enjoyed gardening, tinkering, riding his Vespa, bowling, and karaoke. He was a 32nd Degree, Ceremonialist, and past Grand Master of the Maryland Masons. He was an also active member of the Knights of Columbus Santo Niño Council #9462 and choir for which he and his wife devoted many years of service.
