On July 10, 2024, Robert John Lopata passed away suddenly. Beloved husband of the late Doris Elaine Lopata (nee: Fitz); Devoted father of Debra Dowdy and Kim Lopata; Proud grandfather to Katelyn Dowdy; and Loving "grandfather" to many extra "grandchildren" including Nathan Lidke, Chris Westcott, Connor Yanchulis, and Tyler Egrie; Loving great grandfather to Eden Westcott.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Doris, who succumbed to her battle with Alzheimer's 10 months ago. Bob cared for her until her death over the two years prior. Bob was an avid bowler and developed countless friendships throughout his years in the sport. These friendships will continue on even after his passing. Bob also loved his daughters, grandkids, camping, reading Stephen King, and going to Disney with family and friends, he also loved making people laugh, he loved his Baltimore sports teams with a passion, and his most recent love was his newborn great granddaughter. He was also most proud of his time as a serviceman in the US Army. The loss caused by his absence will be immeasurable to his family and friends.
Visitation Tuesday and Wednesday 3-5 pm and 7- 9 pm at the CVACH/ROSEDALE FUNERAL HOME 1211 Chesaco Ave. Funeral Services Thursday 11 am at Interment Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
