On June 7, 2024, Richard Thomas Freeze, beloved husband of Marguerite A. Freeze (nee: Houston), entered God’s eternal care.
Born February 16, 1935, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Bernard S. and Anna E (Kohrs) Freeze. Richard is remembered as a dedicated and hard worker, having served our country in the United States Air Force, and working as a machinist at Lever Brothers before retiring to spend time with his beloved wife, Marguerite, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. He enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles before losing his sight.
Devoted father of Timothy J. Freeze and his wife, Teri, Gregory Freeze Sr., Christopher P. Freeze Sr. and his wife, Donna, Matthew B. Freeze and his wife, Missy, Nicholas C. Freeze and his wife, Angie, and the late Richard M. Freeze; and stepfather of Patricia McFadden and the late John and Kevin McFadden. Loving brother of Mary Pharr, and her late husband Walter, the late Bernard Freeze, and his wife, Lois, the late Patricia Thomas and her late husband, Charles, Dolores McKenzie, and her late husband, Harry. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amanda, Zach, Meagan, Gregory, Christopher, Anthony, Heather, Stephen, Jessica, Clarissa, Elaina, Ricky, Tyler, Sydney, Sean, and Grace, and his great-grandchildren, Asher, Gabe, Connor, Logan, Anthony Jr., Marissa, Jaden, Derek, Jacob, Devon, and his newest addition Wyatt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at noon on Friday, June 14th at St. Clement Church on Chesaco Avenue in Rosedale. The burial will be in the Interment Gardens of Faith Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 10 am to 12 noon at the CVACH/Rosedale Funeral Home at 1211 Chesaco Ave in Rosedale, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life of the Hanover Area. Donations can be sent to Donna Freeze, team member, at 49 Little Knoll Drive, Hanover, PA 17331. Richard battled for years fighting six different cancers before succumbing to Colon Cancer. A luminaria has been lit for years honoring Richard, this year we will honor and memorialize Richard for his fierce battle.
