Marie (Mimi) May Karl (née Morkovsky), 94, of Rosedale, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 17, 1931, in Baltimore, she was the eldest child of the late Emil Floyd Morkovsky and Agnes Marie Morkovsky (née May). Marie was the beloved wife of the late Charles P. Karl and a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who treasured her family above all else.
Marie's legacy lives on through her five children: Charles J. Karl (wife Jane; predeceased by his first wife, Patty), Kathy Boynton (husband Gary), Joanne Mosser (husband Chris), Bette Burdette, and Linda Rode (husband Jonathan "Buddy"). She was a proud grandmother to Sandra Wooten, the late Gary J. Boynton, Casey Karl, Stacey Tracey, Amanda Burghauser, Brierley Burdette, Ashley Mosser, Karly Burdette, Courtney Rode, and Colby Rode.
She was also blessed with several great-grandchildren: Taylor Wooten, Gary "Tyler" Boynton, Austin Wooten, Parker Tracey, Luke Burghauser, Paige Tracey, Levi Burghauser, Aria Mosser, and Lucy Burghauser; and one great-great-grandchild, Lennon Logsdon.
Marie is survived by her cherished sisters, Florine Lovell and Alice Mento, and was predeceased by her brothers, Elmer Morkovsky and William "Willie" Morkovsky.
A gifted artist (embroidery, sewing, drawing, scrapbooking), avid gardener, dedicated homemaker, and long-term business owner, Marie was passionate about every aspect of her life. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew her. Look for her in the butterflies.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the CVACH/ROSEDALE FUNERAL HOME 1211 Chesaco Ave.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday at 11 am at St. Clement Mary Hofbauer Church in Rosedale. Interment will follow at Bel Air Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
