Mapach had the kindest heart and a smile that made people feel like they were the most important person in the room. He lit up every space he was in - from a soccer pitch to a classroom to hanging out with friends and family. He loved soccer and played from his heart with natural skill and passion, and put in the hard work to excel at the beautiful game. Mapach was an equally dedicated student who loved to learn and ask tough questions. He had just finished his second year at Goucher College where he balanced a tough academic courseload with soccer. He went out of his way to make people feel welcome, and important, and was always ready to lend a helping hand and offer a listening ear.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Abang.
Mapach will be deeply missed by his parents, Ochalla and Abang; siblings, Omot (Achol Ojulu) Odolla, Ajito Odolla, Achol Odolla, Meer Odolla, Obang Odolla, Banuck Odolla, Agut Odolla, and Minyim Odolla; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends in Minnesota, Maryland, Massachusetts, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Kenya and other countries.
Visitation Tuesday morning 10 am -11 am at the CVACH/ROSEDALE FUNERAL HOME 1211 Chesaco Ave. Funeral Services to start at 11 am. Interment Oaklawn Cemetery.
