Kathleen Horka Obituary

On August 29, 2024, Kathleen Lorrainne Horka (nee: Julian) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Beloved significant other to Robert Creaghan; Devoted mother of Kaylin Horka and her significant other David, Ryan Horka and Rachael Horka; Dear sister of Kenneth B. Julian and his wife Michele, Becky L. Rhodes and her husband Delbert, Daniel M. Julian and Karen E. Julian; Loving mommom to Lillian Mae Gordon.

In Katie’s younger years she was quite the handful according to her brothers and sisters. She was very hardheaded and stubborn and loved to push her luck with her parents. Growing up she had found herself in the game of pool. She started to become noticed very quickly in the pool community. Self-taught professional, Katie was never afraid to step up to a challenger in the game she knew all too well.

The brightest chapter of her life arose when she had become pregnant with her first child, Ryan Horka. A quick cigarette break later she had given birth to her first daughter, Kaylin Horka. 7 years later come the only planned child, a beautiful baby girl named Rachael Horka. At this time Katie truly flourished, she jumped right into motherhood and took off running. For twelve years she was a devout mother and wife, not a day went by where the house wasn’t spotless, and dinner wasn’t on the table. Every holiday including birthdays were always made extravagantly by her. She took pride in putting others before herself.

As the years went by Katie and her husband Vince had decided to go their separate ways. This forced Katie to find herself again. Through that process she had found the person she would spend the rest of her days with, Bob. The next 10 years Katie transformed into a new being. She spent many days and nights at the dealership she worked where she created strong bonds with her customers and coworkers. Days off consisted of family time and occasionally going out with friends, she knew how to party. You could always count on her controlling the music and singing her heart out… if you were lucky, you could catch a couple dance moves here and there. She was a very outgoing, strong minded, still stubborn, kindhearted woman, mother, friend and partner.

Her final days she was surrounded by loving family and friends. Every week was spent with her beautiful granddaughter Lilly whom she loved so much. Her significant other, Bob had truly fallen into his role as a loving partner and took care of her up until her last breath. She was loved by all she had come in contact with throughout every chapter of her life.

We know she is no longer in pain and finally at peace along with her mother and father. Katie will always live on through her children, her grandchildren and through the bonds and memories shared with others. She will be deeply missed and grieved by many for lifetimes to come. May she rest peacefully in the presence of God.
