Jacqueline Evelyn Goodwill, 76, peacefully went to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 9, 2021. The beloved daughter of the late Vernon Goodwill and Genevieve B. Goodwill (nee: Tammaro); Survived loving relatives and friends.
Born in Portland, Maine on November 10, 1944 at Mercy Hospital. Ms. Goodwill grew up in Baltimore and lived in Rosedale. She was a 1962 graduate of the Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and her Master’s Degree from Loyola College.
Ms. Goodwill began her teaching career in 1968 with the Baltimore City Public School System. She taught at Southeast Middle School and was named “teacher of the year,” earned a social studies award from the superintendent of schools, and was chairperson in her school’s social studies department.
A devout Catholic, Ms. Goodwill cherished her memories from the Institute of Notre Dame. She continued to show her school spirit by making yearly donations to her school.
She loved animals, especially her dogs. In her generous way she donated to the S.P.C.A to help animals in need.
Even after retirement, Ms. Goodwill continued her dedication to improving children’s lives by donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Proud of her Italian heritage, she had recently learned about her family history and ancestral home Mirabella Eclano, Avellino, Campania, Italy through the research of her friend, Rose Jackson.
A loyal and loving friend. She would never turn her back on a friend in need. She had a generous heart and would always insist on sharing a bottle of wine with you.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Clement Mary Hofbauer Church (Rosedale).
Mass of Christian Burial Monday, 10 am at St. Clement Mary Hofbauer Church (Rosedale). Entombment Gardens of Faith Cemetery. Arrangements by CVACH/ROSEDALE FUNERAL HOME.
