George Joseph Knauer

On October 1, 2023, George Joseph Knauer, beloved husband of the late Anna Knauer (nee: Darby); Devoted father of Cecilia Heddinger and Georgianne Lelonek; Loving grandfather of Melissa Heddinger, Benjamin Lelonek, Elizabeth Colclough and her husband Matthew Colclough; Dear great grandfather of Sean Colclough.

George was born and raised in Rosedale and lived there all his life until moving to Perry Hall to live with his daughter seven years ago.  He started working full time at the young age of 14.  As a boy, spending time on his grandparents' farm and admiring all their hard work, was a source of great pride for him and produced many happy memories of family bonding.  As an adult, George worked mostly as an auto mechanic and electrician, but was a jack of all trades and could fix or build anything.  George was very proud of his service in the Army during the Korean War.

Family was the central focus of George's life.  He was married to the love of his life, Anna, for over sixty years until her death.  Being a loving and caring dad to his daughters and a fun and devoted Poppy to his grandchildren was what he cared about the most.  His clever sense of humor combined with his creative story telling entertained family and friends throughout his entire life.
