Knauer, Anna M.
Anna Marie Knauer (nee: Darby) passed away peacefully at Brightview Senior Living, White Marsh on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease and dementia. Anna was born on November 28, 1932 in Fort Howard, Maryland. She grew up in a water front home on Shallow Creek, an inlet of the Chesapeake Bay. Anna married the love of her life, George Knauer on June 22, 1957, and they settled in a small house in Rosedale. Anna received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Towson Teacher’s College (now Towson University) and two Masters Degrees from John Hopkins University. She was a teacher in Baltimore County Public Schools for elementary, secondary, and adult education. Her true calling though, was as an administrator at the Rosedale Center a program for at risk teenagers and trouble teenagers.
Anna is survived by her loving husband, George, of 60 years; her daughters, Cecilia Heddinger and Georgianne Lelonek; grandchildren, Benjamin Lelonek, Elizabeth Lelonek, and Melissa Heddinger; and son-in-law, Rick Lelonek.
Friends may gather from 1-3 pm at the CVACH/ROSEDALE FUNERAL HOME 1211 Chesaco Ave. on Saturday, March 31. 2018. A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm. Cremation Private.
